Also, the CDC and Governor's Office released new quarantine guidance this week. Quarantine is now seven days IF you test after day five of exposure AND receive a negative test result. If you do not test after exposure quarantine is now ten days. A positive test result is still a ten day quarantine. You must also be free of COVID symptoms before returning. Previously, quarantines had been fourteen days.

Good Afternoon West Monona!
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday I wanted to send out a message to provide some clarity. We have had some cases of COVID, but the percentage of positive cases is low (less than 1% positive and 3.1% in quarantine) at this time.. We have had no confirmed cases of transmission taking place at school. In reality, school seems to be one of the safest places to be in regards to COVID.
At West Monona, our plan continues to be to provide face-to-face instruction to students unless the Governor orders schools to be closed, the IDPH or county health advise that closing schools is necessary, or we have a situation where we do not have enough healthy staff to provide services for students. Barring one of these three things happening, we plan to continue to stay open.
With that said, we all know that things can change quickly. Positive COVID cases are on the rise statewide. As a result, we are doing our best to be prepared by practicing using a virtual delivery system, checking on internet access with students, and ensuring necessary planning is taking place to be ready, which you may be hearing about. Additionally, please review your plans for your children if the school was moved to 100% virtual instruction. Again, this is all being done so we know we are prepared. Our goal and plans are to continue with face-to-face instruction.
I hope this helps clarify our plans for all of you.
Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!
