It is the priority of the Western Valley Conference to ensure the safety of all participants and the ability for them to finish the season. Due to the late notice regarding event attendance from the Governor’s Office the Western Valley Conference will continue to use guidance previously in place for middle school and high school events until January 17th.
Previous guidance:
Spectator rules include players, cheerleaders, dance teams and coaches
Masks and social distancing required.
Districts are only allowed to provide tickets to the members of the household that the athlete/performer reside under the same roof with OR two tickets. Not both for one athlete. If a family has a household attend the game, they are not permitted to give 2 additional tickets to others for that participant.
If a family has two participants, they get two allotments and are not limited to a single household.
A student who is living in two homes would be allowed to have passes for members of both households. If a participant has a divided household (i.e., the parents have joint custody), both halves of the family are part of the participant's household. They are both households for the participant, when viewed from the participant's vantage point.
Spectators will need to leave once their participant(s) are finished competing for the night.
Happy Thursday Spartan Community!! It is a Spartan Sports Thursday! The Spartan MS boys team is in Moville tonight against Woodbury Central. With the new Proclamation that went into effect on Friday. West Monona will now be allowing youth sports to use West Monona facilities. All outside organizations must follow the same guidelines as HS/JH sports. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the building and while attending all sporting events. Each athlete will only be allowed two (2) spectators no matter of the age, and must follow the additional requirements per the signed facility rental contract. West Monona is excited to once again have youth sports, but we ask that everyone please follow all guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Correction on the previous message. It should have said late starts instead of early outs. Sorry for any confusion.
Good Afternoon!
The board will be considering whether or not to continue with two hour early outs for the remainder of the school year at their December meeting. Please provide your input on the topic by completing the attached survey by December 18th.
Thanks and have a great day!
