Rumor Control: There is no meeting taking place today to determine how long school will be closed. As of right now, we are scheduled to reopen on April 14th. Closing longer will only occur upon the recommendation of the Governor, CDC, and/or Iowa Department of Public Health.

Elementary parents, the printed materials available at the school from 8am-8pm tomorrow are the same materials that were emailed to you. It is available to help those who could not print the materials on their own.
Elementary Parents:
Monday from 8 am-8 pm, parents are able to pick up printed materials from the elementary entry. Materials are limited, so if they are all gone please email josh.vanderflught@westmonona.org with your student(s) name(s) and grade(s). New material will be provided every Monday.
Governor Reynolds announced at 8:15 this evening that all Iowa schools should close for four weeks effective immediately. We apologize for the short notice, but want to be sure we keep our students, staff and community safe by following our Governor's recommendation. More information to come as this is a developing situation.

Reminder that the book fair at the elementary will run tonight and Thursday from 4-8 pm. We will also have it open Wednesday morning from 9-10 for parents visiting to read with their children.
Reminder - parent-teacher conferences are Tues 3/3 & Thurs 3/5 at 4-8 pm. Attendance during conferences is valued, if you don't remember what time you are scheduled please call the Elementary/MS. HS parents please feel free to visit with any of you student's teachers.
West Monona Speech students had a good day at the District Individual Speech Contest at Woodbury Central on Saturday, February 29th.
Lexi Lander and Garrett Heisterkamp were awarded Division 1 ratings in the category of Public Address. Reed Reicks scored a "1" in the very difficult category of Solo Improvisation.

The spring pops concert scheduled for Monday, March 9, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 10. It will start at 6:30 p.m. in the HS auditorium.

The MS dance will be held Friday, February 28 from 4-6 pm in the HS commons. Admission is $3 or 3 canned goods. Dress code is casual and the theme is neon. There will be pizza and drinks available to purchase.
