Ms. Brockman - Addie Brown - I chose Addie for her strong work ethic.  She comes to all of her lessons, is very involved in the activities that she is a part of, and is a strong leader for others in the classroom.

Mr. DeRocher - Cole Halverson - I admire someone who learns from their mistakes and never makes that mistake again. My student of the month demonstrated that ability. After failing to do the very first assignment of the school year he has completed 52 consecutive assignments. For this reason and his excellent performance on tests, Cole Halverson is my student of the month.

Mr. Donnelly - Blaine Young - He understands the value of teamwork, and he is willing to collaborate in class discussions.  Blaine fearlessly provides practical and logical input, and I enjoy having him in my class.

Mrs. Doorenbos - Kloie Lester - Kloie misses class once a week because she is enrolled in the CNA class at the hospital. She does an awesome job of coming in and making up the class time she misses. She works on her homework ahead of time and is very organized. I am very proud of the effort she puts into school as she goes above and beyond to get her CNA certification while keeping up with her classes at school.

Mrs. Fox-O’Reilly - SoWon - Sowon is dedicated to achieving and challenging herself to keep learning and building her skills. She’s a leader in the classroom and always kind to others.

Mr. Groves - Jesse Boynton - I chose Jesse for his all around great attitude.  He is very dedicated to completing tasks, and he is always has a positive attitude.

Mrs. Mann - Jayce Runyon - Jayce is in the Foods II class, and he does a great job working with his lab partner, Trey.

Mr. Moore - Darius Gashe - I’m nominating Darius for his time management skills.  He had an extremely busy February competing in post-season wrestling.   He qualified for the Iowa High School State Wrestling tournament for the third time!  Darius was in Des Moines three school days and was able to keep his Government work up to date.  He is an excellent STUDENT athlete.

Mr. Pash - Derrick Crawford - Derrick has been another one of my hard working students in the “0” hour class. Until his injury, he was always on time and worked extremely hard to become the best version of himself as possible. Derrick has now come back from his injury and has picked up where he left off. Always encouraging to fellow students, Derrick is very helpful with the young ones and helps teach them the proper ways of dedication and commitment.

Mr. Pitt- Olivia Phipps - Olivia works hard in both English 10 class and first-hour study hall whereas a sophomore she is taking a college credit class.  Her efficiency and quiet, polite demeanor are an outstanding way to begin every day here at school. I sincerely appreciate her self-motivation and solid work ethic.  How exciting to be earning college credits in tenth grade.  Congratulations to my student of the month Olivia Phipps!

Mr. Potter - Sydney Richards - Sydney is an all-around great student.  She always has a positive attitude and she contributes to class in many ways.  Sydney continually does exemplary work. She is also very respectful to everyone and has a great smile.

Ms. Rewinkel - Emily Kepner - Emily is a hard working and thoughtful young lady. She has been helping out a ton with Senior class activities by working multiple concession stand duties and donating pop to the half-court shots. She does all this while maintaining a full class schedule, including taking Chemistry and doing very well AND working a part-time job. She is extremely reliable, competent and Go-getter. Thank you for all your hard work. It does not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated!

Ms. Shaw - Yolonda Jordan - Yolonda works hard in the band and is always looking out for others in the class.  She is great at getting everyone to smile and is the first to answer questions and help problem solve any situation that arises.  She is a joy to have in the classroom with her spunk and infectious smile.

Mr. Stegge -Mallory McCall - Mallory has the desire to do well in whatever she is involved with.  This carries over into the classroom where I can count on her to push herself to understand the finer details of a topic.  She goes beyond the vocabulary to finer details. The example she sets with her behavior also speaks to her classmates about giving the school the attention it deserves and allows her to learn as much as possible, by listening carefully to what goes on in the classroom.

Ms. Stump - Rosara Reicks - Rosara is such a well-mannered young lady and an absolute delight to have in class! She is always cheerful, respectful, and attentive. Her focus in class is admirable, and her efforts in striving for excellence are appreciated. She works hard at making sure she does the best she can by asking questions when she has them and asking for my assistance in reading over and making corrections on her writing. Her diligence and eager-to-learn attitude help her be successful, so congratulations and thank you!

Ms. Trout - Brett Collison - This student brings a smile every day, upbeat attitude, is respectful, jovial, has a ‘hello’ - ‘how is your day going’ every time he comes to class.  He is thoughtful and works hard in class and gets his assignments done on time. I have enjoyed getting to know this student throughout the year. My student of the month is Brett Collison.

Ms. Wedeking - Morgan Fritz - Morgan has shown a lot of great improvements this semester. She has become very independent in the classroom, works hard to get her work done each day, and has more motivation to succeed. I can always count on Morgan to get to work right away without complaining and give her best effort in math. I’m very proud of how much Morgan has grown this year.

Mr. Zeleny - Bailey Stout - I’m nominating Bailey for my February student of the month because he has been doing a great job of keeping on top of his work, and making sure stuff is done and turned in on time.  In Physical Education, he always tries hard, gives 100% and is always positive.
