WEST MONONA SPEECH TEAM RECEIVES ALL-STATE HONORS
The Radio Broadcasting Team from West Monona received the honor of an invitation to the 2020 All-State Festival sponsored by the Iowa High School Speech Association. Sara Maule, Lexi Lander, Enya Martinez, and Megan Nichols presented their recorded radio program at the Festival at Iowa State University in Ames on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Their performance was titled "Focus on Phobias" and presented a humorous look at some lesser-known fears. Included were "Nomophobia" or "No Mobile Phone Phobia", the fear of being without your phone and Optophobia, the fear of opening one's eyes. The West Monona Community will be able to enjoy their broadcast at the Speech Community Performance night, scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th.
