Ms. Trout for Lexi Lander: Lexi Lander was one of the first to join Key Club, and to take an interest in being an officer.  She will lead as Key Club President. She also jumped right into her service requirement by volunteering at the first home football game in the Concession Stand sponsored by the Onawa Kiwanis Club.  Thank you, Lexi, for taking the initiative and being a positive role model for all students.

Mr. Stegge for Grant Russell:  Grant has been an excellent addition to my classroom this year.  He is very willing to share his ideas with the class. This extends not just to answers but helping initiate class discussions as well.  He has a very easy smile and a positive attitude that helps brighten up 1st-period science class every day. His display of leadership in these ways helps set the tone in the first period science classroom that says learning can be interactive and enjoyable.

Mr. Pitt for Micah Farrens: Micah has had a great start to his English 9 school year.  He is a positive influence on our classroom and exhibits daily courtesy and appropriate social skills.

Mr. Zeleny for Lulu Fender: Lulu did a WONDERFUL job being empathetic and helping BJ with a student who was injured in class.  Her ability to remain calm and help BJ with the situation was truly helpful and appreciated.

Mr. Pash for Johnathon Fritz: Johnathon has been my go-to guy for four years now. Whenever I need a task done Johnathon is the man. Whether it's setting up gyms, football fields or washing and folding towels for the weight room, Johnathon does it all. It will be hard to find someone to fill his shoes next year!

Ms. Shaw for Bradley Richardson: Bradley has shown his ability to work hard on his academics, keep a positive attitude even when others around him are not, and a strong desire to be successful in school this year. He comes in, ready to work with a smile and a story about his day. I enjoy having him in class.

Mrs. Mann for Lexi DeRocher: In Foods III students are learning to cook on their own and prepare more complicated/time-consuming recipes.  Students often need an assistant to help with all the dishes while they are cooking, Lexi is always helping others, even though she has not been asked, she notices that there is work to be done and steps forward.  It is also not uncommon for Lexi to ask me “what can I do to help”. I so appreciate all that she has done in class these past weeks.

Mrs. Doorenbos for Tayah Struble: Tayah is a great role model for others in Geometry class! She is positive and kind to everyone. She does an excellent job of participating in class each day. She always follows along in notes, asks questions, and provides answers/ideas to the class. I appreciate how much initiative she takes in her learning. Tayah isn’t afraid to share her math thoughts with others and her sharing allows others to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts as well!

Mr. Potter for Laura Fox: Laura has done a great job all-around in my class.  She is involved in class discussions in a positive way. The work she does is complete, on time, and of very good quality.  Laura has a positive attitude and a great smile. She respects and listens to others when they are talking and she contributes relevant information. She is also willing to present in front of the class.

Ms. Stump for Brandon Coble: Brandon is a very responsible, respectful, and hardworking student. He is also a leader in class, as he is always one of the first students willing to volunteer an answer and be a good example. He also brings a refreshingly positive attitude to the class, keeps up with all his work, and excels in every task he is given.

Ms. Brockman for Josie Boynton: Josie has a fantastic positive attitude and smiles every day. She has come to every lesson she’s been scheduled for.  She has performed at all National Anthem performances she could make it to and is willing to help out in any way that she can. She is always smiling and encouraging others during class time. She is a wonderful part of this program!

Mr. DeRocher for Megan Bonham: She scored 100% on an advanced math test and I was impressed. I’m not sure I could do that.

Ms. Wedeking for Brooke Sidwell: She comes to class each day with a positive attitude. She always gives her best effort and wants to learn and be successful.

Mr. Groves for Eein McKinley: Eein has displayed an outstanding work ethic. He has challenged himself to take on tasks that are new and challenging. He is producing an outstanding project.

Mrs. Fox-O’Reilly for Chiara Kuhlman: Key has unlimited energy and focus for learning and challenging herself. She works hard to explore new media and ideas. Each project she completes demonstrates her work ethic and growth mindset inside and outside of the classroom.

Mr. Moore for Dustin White: Justin has had great academic success in Character & Leadership class.  He has taken a leadership role in discussions and treats his peers with respect. I enjoy the different perspective he brings to our ethical dilemma questions.  He will be missed next semester!

Mr. Donnelly for Kiya Myers: Kiya is recognized because of her character and attitude and a notable consideration towards others.

Ms. Rewinkel for: Danny Komerak: Danny has shown great character in class. He is honest and does what is right even when it may have a negative outcome for himself. Thank you for being an example of what a good leader looks like!
